How to add Breadcrumbs to your Blog

Step 1:
In most of the cases people are already using Yoast SEO for various SEO purposes but if you are not using Yoast SEO than first of all you need to install and activate the Yoast SEO plugin after that a new SEO menu icon will appear on left side menu, you need to click on the icon.

The expanded SEO setting will now display many additional options below the SEO icon. You need to click on the ‘Advanced’ option.

Step 3:
You need to go to the Breadcrumbs tab and switch from “Disabled” to “Enabled”.
After that click on save changes.

Showing Yoast’s Breadcrumb Navigation on Your Site

In order to make Yoast’s Breadcrumb navigation visible on your blog, you need to add a small line of code into your theme. In some WordPress themes, however, this is not required so first you need to visit your blog and go to single posts and pages to check if your theme displays breadcrumb navigation on the pageIf your theme does not show the Breadcrumbs automatically, then you will need to add a little code snippet to your WordPress theme.

Copy this code snippet where you want to display your Breadcrumbs.

The best place to add this is your theme’s header.php file, however, depending on your theme you can also add this to your single.php and/or page.php file just above the page’s title.

Do not try to add this code snippet to your theme’s functions.php file.
