Five Solid Reasons To Use An Internet Fax Service
5 January 2009
Online or Internet Fax Services are becoming extremely popular with our ever increasingly mobile workplace and workforce. As we become more mobile, we want the ability to receive and send faxes through our email and the Internet. It’s as simple as that!
Receive and send your faxes anywhere, anytime.
Plus, you have no more paper jams, no more bulky fax machines, no more busy signals and no more return trips to the office to pick up that important fax at 10 o’clock at night!
If you need more convincing about the advantages of using or switching to an Internet Fax Service, here’s a short list of reasons:
Convenience
There’s a great deal of convenience to receiving and sending your faxes through your email. You can access it anywhere and anytime; wherever and whenever you access your computer and the Internet.
Your faxes are right at your fingertips - just one click away.
You receive a local or toll-free fax number that you can give out to all your contacts. You can also store all your faxes online or on your computer’s hard-drive, so you know exactly where your faxes are. You know exactly where to find that important fax when you need it. No more scrambling through files or garbage bends to find your faxes. No more missed faxes because of busy signals, not to mention the decrease in all that foul language as there are no more paper jams.
Mobility
Perhaps, the most important feature or selling point for using an Internet or email fax service is mobility. Since you receive and send faxes through your email system and the Internet you can access them anywhere, anytime.
This is great for mobile professionals, traveling sales people, real estate agents, onsite builders, etc. Our workplaces and workers are becoming very mobile at a very fast rate - just in the last five or ten years we have seen the explosion in the popularity of cell phones, PDAs, Wi-Fi, Wireless Broadband, and portable laptop computers. All these new technologies have changed how we do business and how we communicate.
Internet or email fax fits perfectly into this mix and gives us the means to take our work on the road.
Easy To Use
Internet fax is as easy as using your email. How hard can that be? Most, if not all email fax providers have a Web Interface (online site) where you can log onto and do all your faxing chores. Send and receive your faxes. Most fax services also allow you to store your faxes online for easy access.
Most Internet fax services will work with Windows Outlook and Windows Office. Some have free desktop applications that you can download and place on your desktop which allows you to send and receive your faxes.
Finally, most services let you send a fax by just sending an email, i.e. (destination number)@yourfaxservice.com - It doesn’t get any easier than that.
Inexpensive
Internet fax can be very inexpensive, especially if you only have modest faxing needs. If you send or receive just a few faxes each month you can purchase a very inexpensive monthly or yearly plan from many of the major fax providers. Many of these Internet fax services have various plans and fees; finding one that matches your faxing needs can save you a lot of money in the long run.
Really modest fax users can get an Internet fax service for a few dollars a month. One of the major service providers, eFax will even let you have a Free account where you can receive up to 20 faxes a month for free, but be aware that you will have to upgrade to a paid service to send faxes. Another service, Send2Fax Prepaid charges you $0.15 for every fax and a $20 deposit along with a very low $1.95 monthly fee.
For a person starting a home business or office, using an online fax service will save you the extra cost of purchasing a fax machine and an extra phone line. Actually, online faxing may save your company or organization around 85% on up front costs and 34% on monthly costs of traditional fax servers. This is a great plus.
Most online fax services are business-ready, and are completely flexible and scalable to meet all your company’s faxing requirements. Fax broadcasting to a large number of recipients can also be more cost-effective with these online services. There’s usually special custom pricing for companies.
Compatibility
Lastly, in a world that’s constantly changing, having a faxing system that’s compatible to all the latest gadgets and gizmos, is more important than it may seem at first glance. As our communication and business tools keep changing with the introduction of new hardware and services, Internet or email fax will work with all of these new inventions: Laptops, PDAs, Cell Phones, Wi-Fi, VoIP, Wireless Broadband, Satellite Internet, come what may…
Choosing an Internet fax service will meet all your present and future personal and business faxing needs. It is the right choice at the right time. Discover the advantages of an email fax service for yourself. Easy to use, affordable, mobile, accessible and compatible.
Star Trac TR4500HR Treadmill - A Review
5 January 2009
When you’re searching for a treadmill for your home or club,
you’ll find Star Trac treadmills at the top of your shopping
list, and for good reason. StarTrac has garnered a
reputation for quality and superior machines since their
appearance on the treadmill scene in the 70’s, and has
become sort of the Cadillac of treadmills. The TR4500HR
treadmill is another in their line of great exercise
machines.
Star Trac treadmills offer many features, and this one is no
exception. Weighing in at a solid 284 lbs., the 4500 measures
a healthy 20″x62″, thus affording the user room to move! I’m
a big guy, and I appreciated the roominess. The unit has a
maximum user capacity of 350 lbs. Powered by a 2.5hp
continuous speed motor, the Star Trac TR4500HR is capable of
speeds from 0-10 mph, and inclines from 0-15%, (for those of
you with a death wish!) the 4500 is primed with all the
power you need for a great workout! For ease on your knees,
the 4500 features the Impact Absorption System, IAS, which
cushions impact on your ankles, knees, hip and back.
Star Trac treadmills feature a useful and easy to use
display, with a heart rate monitoring system that you can
tie into your target training zone, as well as hundreds of
pre-programmed training selections, all the while recording
your time, distance, speed, calories, laps and pace. The
unit also features a built-in rack for towels, water and
even a stereo, and can handle up to 50 different user id’s.
The in-home warranty is one year parts on the motor and 6
months labor, as well as 90 days on the wearable parts
(grips, belts, pads) and lifetime phone support. I found
this warranty a mite skimpy for a treadmill with it’s
reputation and price (around $6000 but you can do better)
but all in all, for all the bells and whistles that the Star
Trac TR4500HR treadmill brings to the table, you’d be hard
pressed to find a better machine.

Finding The Right Mazda Dealer
4 January 2009
How do I find a Mazda dealer that is reliable and located in my area? We all have our preferences, and mine is Mazda vehicles. So for my next car, I want to visit the best Mazda dealer I can to get what I need. However, I need to figure out what the best way to locate one is. Turns out, there are several things you can do to find a Mazda dealer in your area without just driving around aimlessly.
The first place to start a search is in the yellow pages. If you go to your local yellow pages and open it up to automobiles you will likely find it is a huge section. Generally the dealers are listed in the section based on alphabetical listings by dealership. Mazda dealers will be in the “M” section. If you live in a larger metro area, there will likely be several Mazda dealers, so write down phone numbers and contact information. You can also go to your local yellow pages online and type in a search f “Mazda dealer.”
Another way to find a Mazda dealer in your area is to check out the Mazda website. Most car manufacturers list affiliate dealers on their site along with contact information. The good thing about this method is that you can probably browse some of the vehicles on line before heading out to the Mazda dealer. When you have an idea what you are looking for, shopping for almost anything becomes easier.
You can also find a Mazda dealer through word of mouth. As people you know who have a Mazda where they got it. Also, ask them about their experience so that you will know if it a dealer that you would enjoy dealing with.
Finding out which Mazda dealers are reputable and easy to work with is also important. As people you know have worked with them for their opinion of the service, experience, and people who work at that Mazda dealer. The other way to check out the reputation of the dealership is to check out consumer websites online. There are consumer sites that will review the actual Mazda cars, Mazda dealers, or sometimes even specific managers. Do your research to make sure that your Mazda dealership experience will be one you enjoy, not one you look back on with spite.
Once you have found the Mazda dealers in your area, and once you have checked out their reputations online and with friends and acquaintances, you are ready to make a decision. Choose your Mazda dealer for what you find important and with what seems like will work best for you. If you do that, you should end up happy with your results.
Most everyone has their own car preferences in terms of manufacturer. If Mazda is your favorite, there are some steps you should take to make sure you find the right Mazda dealer for you. First off, take some time to find out who is in your area with the yellow pages either print or online. From there, ask around about the Mazda dealers you are considering. Do they have a good reputation? Then, simply make a decision that you feel like makes the best sense for you.
If you are interested in additional car dealer articles of mine, please feel free to visit my automotive website. Thank you for your valuable time!
How to choose the right bulk sms route
3 January 2009
Bulk SMS became a price based business over the last 4 years as
the popularity grew with more and more companies communicating
with existing and potential clients via text messaging also
known as SMS.
Unfortunately, as is the case with all popular communication
services or industries, bulk SMS ended up being used for sp@m
and customers complained to the networks as they received
unsolicited messages. The networks had to step in and set
paramaters in place which monitored the sending of such
unsolicited SMS.
Bulk SMS is identified by the text contained within the messages
and the sender id - i.e. when bulk SMS is sent, the sender id as
well as the content of all messages are the same. This provided
the operators / networks with a way to monitor bulk SMS
resulting in blocking of routes without advanced warning i.e.
any message that remotely resembled sp@m was blocked.
It was time to define the different types of text messages
consumers could send. In 2004 the networks started to
distinguish between bulk SMS and streaming SMS routes. This
distinction implied that messages containing different sender id
and text were allowed to be delivered while messages containing
the same sender ID and text were blocked by certain operators.
(Filtering of messages took place)
Market segmentation took place as a result of this filtering and
today clear distinction is made between bulk SMS and streaming
SMS gateways. Please note that streaming SMS is normally allowed
if a bulk SMS gateway is used, seeing that the sender ID and
text will be unique. In cases where a streaming SMS route for
example only allow person-to-person communication, all bulk SMS
will be blocked.
The following market segments for bulk SMS are used as a
general rule of thumb and it originates basically from customer
requirements or customer needs:
Web bulk SMS or pc to mobile
Web or pc to mobile bulk SMS is sent when a customer logs on to
an internet based text messaging service. Some companies also
offer online/offline desktop software which could be used for
this purpose. A text file with the numbers are created and
uploaded to the bulk SMS gateway. One text message is then
delivered to the numbers on the list. In these cases clients are
normally limited to the number of bulk SMS they may send - for
example 2,500 numbers per file upload. If the client wish to
send 10,000 SMS they would have to create 4 different files.
Pure bulk SMS:
Pure bulk SMS is based on bulk that does not contain any sp@m
or adult content. This could be bulk SMS used for specific well
wishes or notifications for example a company wanting to wish
their customer base of 100,000 (one hundred thousand) clients or
more a prosperous new year. Advertising is allowed but the text
messages may not contain IVR (interactive voice recognition)
numbers or short codes. These bulk SMS gateways allows for
dynamic sender ID and delivery reports if the clients are
willing to pay a higher price. Minimum purchase volume is around
one hundred thousand credits and clients could connect to the
bulk SMS gateway with HTTP or SMPP.
IVR and short code supported bulk
SMS
These bulk SMS gateways allows IVR or short codes to be included
in the text messages. It also allows for massive bulk SMS
volumes for example 2 million messages to be sent. A distinctive
GSM feature of these bulk SMS gateways is that it normally does
not support dynamic sender ID and there are no delivery reports.
Minimum purchase volumes on these routes are normally around
five hundred thousand credits and clients have the option to
connect to the bulk SMS gateway with smpp.
Choosing the correct bulk SMS gateway in order to ensure
delivery of your messages in a timely manner should not just
depend on price. The old rule of “You get what you paid for”
applies in the bulk SMS industry as well. If you find a cheap
route, please ensure that the route is tested prior to making a
financial commitment. Clients should plan the campaigns they
want to run, investigate various bulk sms gateways based
on the requirements and then make an informed decision based on
GSM features vs price and support.
Mobile Broad Band will soon be the Turning Point to the Development of Internet Connections
3 January 2009
Mobile broadband has been advertised as the last achievement in the broadband world that is going to be the turning point to the development of broadband. Up until recently, high speed connection has been delivered through a standard telephone line, ADSL cable, that brings internet access to a computer through an ADSL modem or router. Wi-Fi broad-band has become more and more used, whereby the high speed modem is connected to the computer via a wireless intranet, and as a consequence internet users are ridding their homes of cables. However mobile broad band will take things one step further and offering another idea in the evolution of internet; a broadband line almost in all the house without the need for a traditional phone line cable.
The option of connecting with a reliable broad-band line in all the house is obviously attractive to many people, especially those that generally go online with their PCs away from home. Business people for example who often travel for business are the target for mobile high speed connection because they will enjoy the opportunity of not having to look for a WiFi spot for a reliable connection. Mobile broad band is going further than that, and since costs start to decrease and connection speeds get faster we will soon see most of broadband customers requesting a mobile broadband.
Mobile broadband works by using a small portable modem to a pc, also called a ‘dongle’, from which your computer will use whichever mobile high speed connection provider you have registered for. Many companies are packaging mobile broad-band deals and coverage of the networks, which is well known as three G networks, which is now said to be as much as 90% of Great Britain.
Speed is a serious issue for any broadband line and mobile broad band telecoms at first had problems to persuade clients that a mobile internet connections could be as good as conventional, ADSL landline fast speed connection. Things are better, since Vodafone has announced mobile broadband speeds up to 7 mb, which is in line with some of the normal landline broadband. The majority of the countries, including Great Britain, will soon invest money in fibre optic cable networks, in an attempt to speed up broad-band speeds to up to 100 mb.
In New Zealand a famous telecommunications supplier has announced that mobile high speed connection networks are set to increase rapidly in the next few years and they have forecasted that mobile high speed connection could be delivering speeds of up to 100mb by early 2011, which is the year when the GB’s fibre optic network will be delivered. This could create a serious change in industry thinking, with the development of a super fast mobile high speed internet network having obvious advantages over the laying of thousands of kilometers of fibre optic cables, not least from a practical point of view.
Telephone Headsets - The Most Common Ways of Wearing a Headset
2 January 2009
As most people know, headsets come in a variety of shapes and styles. We’ve seen them in the movies or have from time-to-time, come across them in our everyday pursuits. From the dowdy old fashioned contraptions that weighed a ton and slung around the users head and neck - to the modern-day overear styles that are used in all the glamour shots by Hollywood directors and fashion photographers. There is even a type, also not that common anymore that slings under the users chin and resembles a doctor’s stethoscope.
The truth is, most people prefer the standard, run-of-the-mill headband type that has a supporting band going across the users head. We call these, funnily enough - headband headsets! There are two types though in this category - Monaural meaning mono - or single, covering only one ear and the other being the binaural - ‘bi’ as most of you would know, meaning two.
Now just when you thought those names were weird enough, there are new shapes that have emerged in recent years that have a headband that goes around the back of the users head. These are strangely enough called ‘behind-the-head’ (the industry hasn’t devised a more sexy name yet) This style is very much like the overear type in that only a handful of people actually like wearing them. I’m not saying they are no good or anything like that. It’s just a matter of personal choice, in that, when most people try them, they prefer to use the traditional headband types instead. Why? You may ask. Well here’s some reasons perhaps.
Well firstly, it all begins with comfort. Like we were told when we were kids - ” if God had meant you to smoke - you’d have a chimney” Well, the same applies to headsets. As much as we in the industry love them, the human body wasn’t really designed to take a headset - wearing a headset is unnatural. For most people wearing anything on their head is most likely going to be uncomfortable after a while, and anything that hangs on or around your ears may look great, but after 10 minutes you’ll want to take it off. So, obviously, getting the right one is important.
This situation also applies to the behind-the-head style - looks great, but not many takers once they have given it a try. For some reason the sensation of the band going behind your head gives many people a feeling of constriction - like someone is squashing their head. This is also true of many headband styles too - but usually, its just a matter of adjustment and getting used to having the “thing” on your head.
Now, there will be those among you who will say - this all rubbish; “I actually prefer an overear “. Well, I forgot to mention that those who do use an over ear will generally never ever wear anything else. Many users of overear styles do so for aesthetic reasons - they don’t want to spoil their hairdos! While others feel that they look ‘dawky’ wearing a headset, so if they have to wear a headset, an overear style is less punishing for them. They usually realize though in a few weeks, after they begin using a headset - nobody takes much notice anymore. The silly jokes from co-workers stop, about ” wanting fries with your order” or “beam me up Scotty”, and the business of getting on and using your headset to full advantage takes place.

Gambling Saloon Gambling: an Introduction to the Pastimes Gamblers Enjoy Contending in
1 January 2009
Assuming you gaming hall gambling, then do read on.
By common definition a gaming hall is a construction that presents betting. Here, clients are expected to relax going for coin-operated machines or trying out another betting pastimes. Gaming establishment games most often include precisely determined balances informing them that maintain that the company keeps hold of its superiority above the gambling fans.
Far too many betting saloon games can encourage you to become overly dependent very rapidly. For example the quintessential slotmachine, a cash operated gadget with 3, sometimes more discs which circumvolve if a knob on its side is manipulated. The contraption usually compensates referring to a succession of pictures shown on the panel of the contraption. Deplorably, gaming room pastimes will convey a fantasy of being in full control, thus tricking the guest — the participant is tasked with decisions, but in reality they can not remove the gamer’s longterm odds. That is precipitated by the betting saloon never repaying the full sum as hoped for. This scheme is repeatedly noticeable in popular casino games such as Texas hold’em, dice games, roulette or blackjack. Texas hold’em is really a very fashionable casino game. The gambling aficionados, playing with fully hidden cards, place their stakes into a principal pot which is then given to the last participant sitting on the highest hand. (As everybody knows, the best bluffer may well prevail ..)
Just like stud poker, blackjack is also a very trendy casino pastime. A sizeable amount of its approval is thanks to its peculiar mix of chance and mastery and decision making, as well as a practise titled Card Counting. It is an approach through which gamers will significantly change the probabilities of the game for their own good by both wagering & tactical opetations in agreement with the cards dealt.
“Craps” is another famous game involving the throw of 2 dice. Aficionados may place stakes on the score of 1 cycle, or on a succession of rolls of 2 dice. In contrast to blackjack, there just isn’t any possible sustainable winning betting system you can make use of to improve the odds.
Roulette is a notable game of luck; a croupier turns a roulette wheel that incorporates a set of precisely 37 (French roulette) or thirtyeight (in the case of American or Vegas roulette) separately tagged chambers in which the rolling pellet will eventually settle, defining the winning number as well as its supplemental combinations. When a gamer has bet on a number which wins i.e. it’s their lucky day, the guaranteed recompense will be thirty five to one, the initial pledge being repaid. So in total it’s multiplied by a factor of 36.
Make sure to be very much cautious though, as all of these gaming establishment gambling pastimes can be definitely dependency forming. So many lives may well have been wrecked through gambling and while it can be fun, please do try to moderate your play.

Choose the Best Communication Tool
1 January 2009
Today’s technology has provided us with so many forms of communication that we often grab for the nearest gadget without asking an important question, “What gadget is best?” Or, in more formal terms, “What is the most effective method of communicating for this situation?”
Should you make a telephone call, or would it be better to visit in person? Should you whip off a quick email message or type a formal letter? What about a fax? Should you page the person and have him/her return your call? Is it acceptable to call this person from your wireless phone? Do you need to schedule an in-person meeting or would a videoconference be more efficient? Do you need to arrange a teleconference or will three-way calling suffice? Should you call the other person on his/her wireless phone?
Technology offers many options for communicating. To be effective, you want to make the right choice.
Start by considering your audience. If an employee hates email, don’t use it to convey bad news. If a client dislikes wireless phones, don’t call him/her from yours. If your boss is annoyed by pagers, don’t page him/her unless it’s vital.
Ask yourself, is it acceptable if there is a lag time between when the message is sent and when it is received? Be careful when determining what is “quick” communication.
For example, email isn’t necessarily fast. Simply because email is sent instantaneously doesn’t mean it’s received that quickly. Some people only check their email once a day or once a week.
Regular mail is notorious for being slow. There’s a reason it’s nicknamed “snail mail.” If you have a quick question or need a clarification, pick up the telephone or walk across the hall. Hey, the exercise is good for you!
Is there a chance the communication could be misunderstood or misinterpreted? Face-to-face contact allows you to obtain valuable non-verbal feedback. And, you can receive this feedback immediately and in mid-sentence, instead of waiting until you’ve sent an entire document, only to discover you’re on the wrong track. Remember, too, that a videoconference is another way to achieve face-to-face contact.
On the other hand, if you’re communicating numbers, financial data, or complicated information, put it in writing. This will help you avoid miscommunication or confusion.
Are you having trouble building a relationship? Whether the person is a co-worker or a new client, look for the most personable methods of communicating. Make a telephone call, or pay a personal visit.
Is the appearance of the letter or proposal important? If a potential client will be making ten copies of your proposal and distributing it to the Board of Directors, don’t fax it. Consider sending the copy via regular mail - in a flat envelope.
What is the volume of information that is being communicated? Faxes are best suited for sending brief pieces of information.
Does the communication require input from several people, or are you brainstorming ideas? If so, consider a face-to-face meeting or a teleconference. That way, everyone can participate at once.
If you need time to think about your reply, avoid the telephone. By using a written format, such as a letter, email, or fax, you have time to consider the matter. Also, if a client is asking detailed pricing questions, you can eliminate confusion (and protect yourself) by putting it in writing.
Is the receiver in a different time zone than you are? Maybe you are ready to leave the office, but you want to send information about an order. If the client is three time zones away, a fax or email will reach him/her more effectively than a phone call.
Finally, in this age of technological gadgets, don’t underestimate the power of a hand-written note. That’s one way to let employees know you appreciate them or to stand out among the competition. How many of your competitors will take the time to hand write a note to a potential client?
Use today’s technology to your advantage. Don’t sabotage your message by choosing the wrong method of communicating it. Make a conscious decision about the most effective medium for your situation.
Truck Drivers! Get in Touch with New Technologies on the Road!!!
30 December 2008
Working on the road can be a very difficult task. Office jobs offer employees many advantages that most of the time are taken for granted: internet access, phone lines, copy machines, faxes, paper, pens, even the desk!!! After a few days away from home, you find out how difficult the job conditions are over the road and you start to notice those small details.
All Truck Drivers and especially Long Haul Truck Drivers face this fact evertday. Fortunately, today the world is growing smaller and technology increases minute by minute allowing many people to reap the benefits of it. Truck drivers are no exception. Many technological advances have imporved their quality of life.
A few years ago, no one would have thought that a truck driver would ever implement the use of the internet in his day to day job. Electronic devices such as computers, palms, cell phones, billing devices and more are all available now to increase the effeciency of today’s transportation services and their employee’s. Professional Drivers benifit just as much from these communication advances as the companies they work for.
The Internet is a great tool to improve our levels of communication, allowing drivers to have access to information at the exect time and place they need it. Today Truckers are able to send and receive email and faxes, order parts and find loads on the Web for their return trips. Different companies offer wireless connections to the internet in digital and analog cellular coverage areas by connecting a laptop to a cell phone. Obviously, the advantage here is that those services are easy to use and count on wide geographic coverage.
Also, truck drivers can count on portable navigation soft wares or GPS, which can be accessed through cell phones, palms or laptops. These devices feature wireless connectivity and a customizable display, which enable more effective routing and handles detours, distractions and delays safely and efficiently. In common words, the driver can manage to locate where he is on an electronic map that will also help him to find addresses and short the time it takes to get there.
Moreover, GPS not only helps the driver but guarantees his safety while on the road. These are low cost GPS software that operate from the vehicles battery power and transmit its location report to the company. Once the unit is installed, the vehicle operator basically can forget about it. There is no driver interaction required or even possible. Besides location and time, the only event the unit monitors is whether the ignition key is turned on or off. This tracking system makes the trip safer for the driver, the clients and the company.
The above mentioned are just three electronic implementations that are very useful for the daily job of truck drivers. The industry also makes good use of special electronic billing devices that, after punching in some information, automatically dispatch the bill specifying the type of transaction made; which allows the driver to have a formal document to present to his foreman.
Obviously, for these devices to be implemented, the will and desire to learn is crucial. Most of these implementations are important on a personal and business level because people can keep in contact with their freight, families and friends.
In general, technology as a whole goes hand in hand with the growth of the Trucking Industry. In todays world and as days go by, Technology will play a major role in every marketplace in the years to come.
